London's Holiday Pet Food Drive

Today, begins my daughter's pet food drive at her elementary school.
London decided to collect food, toys, treats and bedding for the homeless
animals at the Bucks County S.P.C.A., where we are volunteers.

We delivered a huge decorated box yesterday and about 200 flyers, to give out to all
the third grade students.

This morning, London went around to each of these classes and briefly explained what she hopes
to accomplish!

Compassion starts at home, and moves to our schools and our neighborhoods. It is shown to each other and to our pets, and homeless animals in shelters...not just at Christmas..but all year long.

Compassion starts with one idea and moves on to create and inspire other ideas...big and small!

Compassion starts by referring to an animal as he or she, never "it". Compassion starts with standing up for a friend, your family, an animal, your pets, and yourself.

Compassion is believing that what you do, makes a difference...with every small step...you can start to change the world!

"Why Should People Have Pets?" By London

This week, instead of a video, we are doing a blog post written by London!  This is an example of the topics my daughter writes about at school, and why I am so proud of her!                                                                                WHY SHOULD PEOPLE HAVE PETS                                                            BY: LONDON      Have you ever wanted to adopt a pet from a s...

Smiling On The Outside

Are you an animal activist? Do you love and defend animals at all costs? Do you rescue, care for and educate others about animals in need? If yes, then you must be smiling on the outside, while your heart is breaking on the inside. Many people I know are doing this right now, and it's killing them! Almost four years ago, I read an incredibly sad post on Facebook. It was about a women, who I did not know. She had taken her own life that day. The whole reason it grabbed my attention was of course, why was she so unhappy that she did this? What could have been going on, that would make her want to end her life? I was compelled by this poor soul, and felt that her life did mean something, as everyone's life does. When I read through the comments, what I immediately noticed, was that she had been an animal activist. She had tried and had succeeded at helping many animals, at the expense of her own life. The comments revealed that when she no longer had the strength...
